Should I Grade My SVP 101 Pikachu?
Pikachu · SV Black Star Promos SVP 101 · Promo
Short answer: Only if a PSA 10 sells for more than $136.27. At today’s raw price of $38.30, PSA Standard grading ($59.99, the cheapest level whose $1,000 max value covers the recent PSA 10 median and that sale), $25.00 shipping and 13.25% selling fees break even at that graded sale price. Recent PSA 10 sales clear that bar (see the sold comps). Check your card’s centering before you pay to grade, and remember many cards come back a 9 or lower.

Median eBay sold prices for Pikachu SVP 101 by PSA grade, from sales listed on PriceCharting[5] in the 90 days to Oct 20, 2026. Each sale there links to its eBay listing. These are real sales, not our estimates. Grades with fewer than 3 sales are not shown.
| Grade | Median sold | Sales | Sale dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| PSA 10 | $610.00 | 7 | Jul 29 – Sep 28 |
| PSA 9 | $64.99 | 9 | Jul 30 – Oct 5 |
| PSA 8 | Not enough recent sales: only 1 in 90 days (we need at least 3), so no median is shown. | ||
Break-even check: the PSA 10 median, $610.00[5], is $473.73 above this page’s $136.27 break-even, so a PSA 10 selling at that price would beat selling raw.
Our take: At the recent PSA 10 median ($610.00), a 10 would net about $410.96 more than selling raw at the $38.30 TCGplayer price, after PSA Standard grading ($59.99), $25.00 shipping and 13.25% selling fees. At the PSA 9 median ($64.99), a 9 would net about $61.84 less than selling raw (also PSA Standard, $59.99). Grading only pays if your chance of a 10 is better than about 13% (assuming anything less comes back a 9, which is optimistic), so submit only sharp, well-centered copies.[5]

Counting on a PSA 10? It needs about 55/45 front centering (PSA 9: about 60/40). Measure your card's centering from a photo before you pay to grade.

Grading notes for Pikachu SVP 101
- English SVP 101 Pikachu (art by Jiro Sasumo) has two stamped prints: a Play! Pokémon logo version, handed out at Play! Pokémon events in November 2023, and a Pokémon TCG Asia Championship Series 2023-24 logo version released in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Hong Kong. Check the logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork. Many eBay sale titles name the Play! Pokémon version, but PSA labels and many titles don’t say which logo the card has, so the sales below may include both.[1][2]
- An Indonesian-language Pikachu promo with a batik shirt also carries the number 101 (101/SV-P). It is a different card, and its sales are not counted here.
- Many copies sell still sealed in their wrapper. Sealed sales are not counted in the figures on this page.
- General guidance for any card: PSA says a Gem Mint 10 needs four sharp corners, full original gloss, no staining and centering within about 55/45 on the front and 75/25 on the back.[3] Measure yours with the centering checker and read the PSA grading guide before you submit.

FAQ
Is Pikachu SVP 101 worth grading?
Only if recent PSA 10 sales are above $136.27. That is the break-even at the TCGplayer raw market price of $38.30 (as of Oct 20, 2026) with PSA Standard grading ($59.99), $25.00 shipping and 13.25% selling fees. The median of 7 recent PSA 10 eBay sales (Jul 29 – Sep 28, 2026, listed on PriceCharting) is $610.00, above that break-even. We never estimate graded prices: these are real sold listings, and the calculator’s graded value is editable.
Which SVP 101 Pikachu do I have?
Look at the logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork. The common English print has the Play! Pokémon logo; another English print has the Asia Championship Series 2023-24 logo and is priced separately.
Which PSA service level do I need for Pikachu SVP 101?
PSA prices each service level by the card's declared value, which should be what the graded card is worth, not its raw price. Recent PSA 10 sales have a median of $610.00, and a PSA 10 has to sell above $136.27 to beat selling raw. The cheapest level whose max value covers both is Standard ($59.99 per card, max value $1,000; fees checked 2026-10-19). If recent PSA 10 sales are above $1,000, PSA may upcharge you to Priority ($79.99, max $1,500) or higher. The calculator below picks the right level from the graded value you enter.
